Lahore: The district administration of Lahore has intensified efforts to control prices of essential commodities and prevent hoarding in the city. Under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Lahore Captain (R) Muhammad Ali Ejaz, strict monitoring of vegetable and fruit markets is being carried out to ensure stable supply and fair pricing. Officials reported that the arrival of 172 trucks carrying potatoes, onions and tomatoes has improved supply conditions in the markets. Assistant Commissioners and price control magistrates are actively conducting inspections across different areas of the city to enforce official price lists and take action against profiteers. The DC Lahore emphasized a zero-tolerance policy against artificial inflation and hoarding, directing authorities to take strict legal action against violators and ensure that citizens receive essential food items at controlled prices.
