ISLAMABAD : Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik informed the National Assembly that 40 new oil and gas reserves have been discovered during the tenure of the current coalition government. Of these, 18 reserves are already operational, while 22 are in the processing stage and expected to come online soon. The minister said the new discoveries will strengthen Pakistan’s domestic energy production capacity and help reduce reliance on costly imports. Officials view the development as a significant boost to the country’s energy security and long-term economic stability.
