The Punjab government has decided to expand the Sahulat Bazaar network across the province under Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s flagship public relief program. As part of the initiative, construction of 30 new Sahulat Bazaars has formally begun at the tehsil level. Officials said the tendering process has been completed and contracts have been awarded, with a completion deadline set for June 30. Under the expansion plan, a total of 15,400 shops will be established, providing direct economic benefits to around 184,000 families. The project aims to offer essential commodities at affordable prices while creating new livelihood opportunities for small traders. Authorities said the initiative is being implemented in phases to ensure effective public relief and control inflation.
