Cement Prices Spike in North Region Amid Sharp Export Decline

NORTH REGION: Cement prices in Pakistan’s north region witnessed a sudden increase on Thursday, adding fresh pressure on the construction and real estate sectors. According to Topline Securities, cement rates have risen by Rs. 30 to Rs. 50 per bag in a single day. The increase follows a significant downturn in cement exports, particularly from north-based manufacturers. Industry data shows that cement exports declined by more than 20 percent in December 2025. While southern mills managed limited exports, north-based mills recorded zero exports during the same month. Additionally, exports from the north fell by over 18 percent during July–December 2025 compared to the previous year. Analysts say weaker export demand and cost pressures are contributing to domestic price adjustments.
