Punjab Decides to Bring Non-Taxpayers Into Tax Net

The Punjab Revenue Authority has decided to expand the tax base by bringing long-standing non-taxpayers into the tax net across Punjab. The decision was taken during a field operations performance review meeting chaired by PRA Chairman Moazzam Iqbal Sappra in Lahore. Officials reviewed revenue targets and performance related to EIMS registration and tax compliance. Under the new drive, all service-providing companies across the province will be required to register with PRA and ensure EIMS registration and timely tax payments. The chairman expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of Sargodha and Bahawalpur divisions for missing assigned targets. He also announced that training programs for field teams will begin this month to enhance capacity, improve enforcement, and facilitate taxpayers.
