Punjab Approves Rs. 2.5 Billion for Development Projects

The Planning & Development Board Punjab has approved development funding worth Rs. 2.5 billion during the 55th meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party for fiscal year 2025–26, held in Lahore. A major portion of the allocation is dedicated to the rehabilitation, expansion, and construction of paved roads in Cholistan, aimed at improving connectivity in remote areas. The meeting also cleared position papers for the procurement of emergency vehicles, creation of HR posts, establishment of the Punjab Tourism Force, and upgrades to agricultural research facilities. Officials stated that these approvals reflect the government’s focus on infrastructure development, service delivery, and regional uplift through targeted public-sector investments.
