Peshawar: Construction work is progressing on the two-lane PDA Toll Plaza Underpass at Hayatabad Ring Road under the Peshawar Revitalization Plan. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi and Local Government Minister Meena Khan Afridi laid the foundation stone of the project on June 14, 2026. According to the Peshawar Development Authority, the underpass is being constructed at a cost of Rs1.6 billion and is designed to provide easier, faster and safer access towards Bara Road.
The project forms part of the provincial government’s wider effort to upgrade Peshawar’s road network, improve traffic flow and modernise urban infrastructure. Recent visuals from the site show active construction continuing at the Toll Plaza location. The official PDA description says the project is also expected to support the city’s development, beautification and economic activity.
