Sui Southern Announces Winter Gas Supply Schedule with Nighttime Shutdowns

The Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced its winter gas supply schedule, confirming that households in Sindh will face nightly gas outages from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. due to a severe supply shortfall. The utility stated that the decision is part of its seasonal load management plan aimed at distributing limited resources more efficiently. According to the company spokesperson, SSGC did not originally intend to impose load-shedding on residential consumers in Sindh and Balochistan, but worsening shortages have made nighttime cuts unavoidable. The shutdown is necessary to rebuild line-pack levels for meeting next day demand. The ongoing shortage will also affect the CNG sector, which will experience weekly closures as part of the broader conservation strategy.
