Islamabad: Authorities have launched an investigation into an alleged multi-billion-rupee plot allotment scam involving senior officials of the Capital Development Authority (CDA). According to reports, the inquiry focuses on the alleged fraudulent allotment of non-existent or disputed plots across multiple sectors of Islamabad. Officials from the Building Control and Estate Management (Commercial) departments, along with former land administration officials, are among those under scrutiny. Investigators are examining claims involving fake allotment letters, manipulation of official procedures, suspected money laundering, overseas investments and alleged attempts to influence appointments within the CDA’s Land and Rehabilitation Wing. Reports also state that two former CDA officials have reportedly been placed on a stop list to prevent them from leaving the country while the investigation continues. No official findings have been announced, and the allegations have not been proven in court.
