Reko Diq Project Awards €70m Equipment Contract to Finland’s Metso

Reko Diq Mining Company has awarded equipment supply contracts worth around €70 million to Finland-based engineering firm Metso for Pakistan’s flagship copper-gold mining project at Reko Diq. Under the agreement, Metso will supply advanced beneficiation and dewatering equipment aimed at improving efficiency and lowering operating costs. The order includes flotation technology for low-grade ore, ultrafine particle processing systems, filters, slurry pumps, high-rate thickeners, and automated mill reline machinery. Metso said €40 million of the contract was booked in the third quarter of 2025, with the remaining €30 million recorded in the fourth quarter. Jointly owned by Barrick Gold and the governments of Pakistan and Balochistan, the Reko Diq project is expected to attract foreign investment and strengthen the country’s mining sector.
