Rawalpindi Set to Launch Electric Buses on 10 Major Routes Next Week

Rawalpindi district administration is set to launch the first phase of electric buses next week on 10 key routes across the garrison city. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is expected to inaugurate the service. A temporary charging station has already been installed at the old GTS bus stand on Adamjee Road in Saddar. Two more charging stations will be completed at Peshawar Road by the end of December, after which 35 additional buses will arrive. In the third phase, 30 more buses will be deployed once construction work at Kutchery Chowk is finalized.The confirmed routes include: Railway Station–LHC Bench, Koral Chowk–Fawara Chowk, Umar Baig Chowk–Mandi Morr, Munawar Colony–Saddar, Marrir Chowk–Motorway Mor, and Faizabad–Tramri Chowk.
