Punjab links Grade 17 officers’ promotions to mandatory medical fitness tests

Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to conduct mandatory medical fitness tests for officers of Grade 17 and above, following directions from the federal government to all provinces. According to details, officers from administrative services, police, and other government departments have been directed to appear before a medical board and complete required tests at Services Hospital Lahore. The tests include hepatitis screening, heart, kidney, eye examination, X-ray, and other necessary medical fitness assessments. Officials say future promotions of officers will be linked with medical fitness clearance. The purpose of the move is to identify serious health risks during service at an early stage and ensure a healthier, more efficient administrative system.
