Punjab launches Rs305bn mega development plan across 52 cities

Muhammad Muzamil Awan : Lahore: Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif chaired a high-level meeting to review the progress of the Punjab Development Plan, a Rs305 billion mega initiative covering 52 cities. Officials reported that nearly 40% of critical development work has already been completed across 51 cities, including major stormwater drainage projects. The Lahore Development Plan Phase-I has been completed, while Phase-II is 76% complete and expected to finish by June. The program includes large-scale street upgrades, sewerage systems, beautification, and modern machinery deployment before the monsoon season. The CM directed strict monitoring, timely completion, and zero tolerance for delays, emphasizing full readiness ahead of monsoon and improved urban infrastructure across Punjab.
