The Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi has initiated a major upgrade plan for 52 public parks, with renovation work on four major parks—Liaquat Bagh, Allama Iqbal Park, Rawal Park, and Public Park Dhoke Munshi—expected to be completed next month. PHA Director General Ahmed Hassan Ranjha said surveys are underway to introduce new facilities, enhance landscaping, and expand horticulture features. He noted that improvements to the remaining parks will depend on further provincial funding, although routine maintenance is being handled through PHA’s existing budget.Ranjha added that PHA recently completed beautification work on Murree Road and constructed free public sports courts under the 6th Road and Chandni Chowk flyovers. The authority has also finalized a beautification plan for Murree, installing winter flowers and new lighting to boost tourism and improve the city’s visual appeal.
