Lahore: Punjab Local Government Secretary Shakeel Ahmad Mian chaired a review meeting of the Punjab Inclusive Cities Programme, where officials assessed progress on targets, PPP projects, and a new digital monitoring dashboard. Special Secretary Development Shahid Zaman, MD PMDFC Zahid Aziz, and other officials attended the meeting. The review covered public-private partnership projects in Kasur and Chakwal, while officials said practical work has started after transaction advisory approval from the PPP Authority. Under World Bank-supported plans, basic urban infrastructure in 16 Punjab cities will be upgraded, with water and sanitation units improving municipal service delivery. Climate-resilient planning can strengthen housing quality, public health, investment confidence, and local property value. Can better city systems reshape Punjab’s urban future?
