Punjab Completes Bhatti Chowk Underpass, Major Lahore Traffic Relief Expected

Lahore: The Punjab government has reportedly completed the Bhatti Chowk Underpass, a major road infrastructure project near Data Darbar aimed at easing congestion at one of Lahore’s busiest traffic points. Recent reports say the project was completed in around four months and opened around August 14, 2026. Earlier official procurement records confirm that TEPA had initiated procurement for an underpass at Bhatti Chowk for signal-free traffic flow, while progress reports in May showed more than 40 per cent of construction completed. The underpass is expected to improve movement around Bhatti Chowk, Data Darbar and adjoining roads, reducing delays for commuters travelling through the historic central Lahore corridor.
