Multan: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has inaugurated the green electric bus service in Multan, formally launching a new public transport facility for the city and wider division. Business Recorder reported that the chief minister launched the project in Multan, while Provincial Transport Minister Bilal Akbar briefed that 45 electric buses will operate on city routes in the first phase, with services linking key areas including Vehari Chowk, Nishtar Hospital, Ghanta Ghar, Ibn-e-Sina Hospital, Dera Adda and other locations.
Latest coverage and official-style reporting also indicate that the service is being promoted as starting with 60 buses, with the number expected to rise to 160 in the coming weeks, while free travel has been announced for women, students, senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
