Punjab Approves Rs54bn Development Schemes Across Multiple Sectors

The Planning & Development Board Punjab has approved development schemes worth Rs54 billion during the 56th meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party for FY2025–26, chaired by Dr. Naeem Rauf. Major approvals include Rs49 billion for establishing aquabusiness hubs in Lahore, Sargodha, Khanewal, and Sheikhupura. The meeting also approved funds for road rehabilitation in Sargodha, a Program Management Unit under the Punjab Development Program to improve sewerage and storm-water facilities, and riverbank protection works along the Chenab in Hafizabad. Additional approvals covered governance and capacity-building initiatives to strengthen service delivery and planning oversight.
