Punjab Allocates Rs600 Million to Upgrade Wildlife Facilities in Lahore

The Punjab government has allocated Rs600 million to enhance wildlife facilities across Lahore, focusing on major upgrades to the Lahore Zoo and Lahore Safari Zoo. According to official details, Rs100 million has been reserved for renovation and development works at Lahore Zoo, while Rs50 million will support ongoing improvements at Lahore Safari Zoo. The largest portion—Rs400 million—has been earmarked for establishing a state-of-the-art wildlife theatre and cinema aimed at boosting public awareness and improving visitor experience. Additionally, Rs40 million has been set aside for a comprehensive animal census to ensure accurate data and better wildlife management. All allocated funds have been transferred to the Forests and Wildlife Department for immediate utilization.
