Punjab Agriculture Secretary Iftikhar Ali Sahoo chaired an important meeting in Multan to review measures for achieving the province’s cotton production target. He directed officials to ensure timely and need-based canal water supply, provide special crop care guidance during the ongoing heatwave, and take strict action against those involved in the sale of counterfeit agricultural pesticides. He also ordered the early activation of Kisan Facilitation Centres and Cotton Technical Groups, while stressing professional implementation of the “Apna Khet Apna Rozgar” programme. Field formations have also been instructed to remain fully prepared to protect farmers from possible flood-related losses.
