PM Launches Islamabad Vision 2027 Development Plan

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a two-year development roadmap for Islamabad titled “Vision 2027” while inaugurating the Allama Iqbal Flyover at T-Chowk. The Rs. 1.4 billion project, completed ahead of schedule, has made the Islamabad Expressway signal-free from Faisal Mosque to GT Road, significantly easing traffic congestion.Addressing the ceremony, the prime minister praised the Interior Ministry, CDA and project teams for timely delivery and quality execution. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi said Vision 2027 will focus on road infrastructure, service roads, urban planning and resolving Islamabad’s severe water shortage, where demand far exceeds supply. A dedicated task force has already been formed to address water scarcity. Officials said Vision 2027 aims to transform the capital through cost-effective, high-impact development projects.
