Construction on the long-delayed Pakistan Expressway (N-25) has officially resumed in Balochistan, marking a major milestone toward modernising one of the province’s busiest and most dangerous highways. Stretching nearly 800 kilometers, the N-25 connects Karachi, Quetta, and Chaman, serving as a crucial trade and travel corridor. Work restarted after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved the project earlier this year. NHA officials noted that the upgrade aims to bring the route up to safer, modern standards following years of accidents. Federal Communications Minister Abdul Aleem Khan reviewed progress, calling the expressway a strategic investment for Balochistan’s economic development and regional connectivity. He also inspected work on the M-8 to improve access to Gwadar Port and instructed teams in Sindh to accelerate remaining tasks on the Lyari Expressway, ensuring its completion as a model road for Karachi. The reconstruction cost is estimated at Rs300–350 billion.
