New Airport Link Proposed for Murree Glass Train Route

The Murree glass train project has entered its next phase as consultants have advised the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to extend the proposed route toward Islamabad International Airport via Faizabad. The suggestion was shared during meetings between Punjab government officials, Nespak, and CDA as they review pre-feasibility findings.Under the current plan, the glass train will operate on a 40 km elevated monorail track running from Bhara Kahu Bypass to Pindi Point in Murree, with starting options from Lake View Park. Nespak has also proposed utilising the existing metro track between the airport and Faizabad, along with constructing an additional 13 km link to connect Faizabad with Bhara Kahu.Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz has directed early launch of the project, calling it a major tourism and mobility upgrade.
