The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has finalized the detailed planning for a new international-standard cricket stadium in Islamabad, marking a major upgrade to the capital’s sports infrastructure. The project, estimated to cost around Rs. 12 billion, will be constructed near Sector D-12 at the foothills of the Margalla Hills, offering a prime and scenic location.According to official documents, the stadium will have a seating capacity of 25,000 spectators and a pitch diameter of 148 meters. The three-storey design includes general seating on the lower level, VIP and premium enclosures on the middle level, and shaded seating on the upper tier.Inspired by Dubai International Stadium, the venue will feature a modern “Ring of Fire” LED lighting system, advanced crowd circulation, and world-class facilities, enabling Pakistan to host major international cricket events .
