Massive Gold Discovery in Tarbela Sparks National Interest

Gold reserves worth approximately $636 billion have reportedly been discovered in the soil of Tarbela Dam, according to Hanif Gohar, Chairman of Air Karachi and former senior vice president of FPCCI. Gohar stated that divers collected soil samples from the dam, which laboratory tests confirmed contained traces of gold. He said the discovery had been presented to the Chief of Army Staff, who responded positively. Gohar offered WAPDA the opportunity to handle extraction, but added that his company is ready to invest and manage the project with international dredging partners from Holland, Amsterdam, and Canada. He claimed the potential revenue from the reserves could help clear Pakistan’s external debt. Gohar also announced Air Karachi’s domestic flight operations starting March 23.
