Karachi set for fresh monsoon spell as rain returns from Sept 14

Karachi: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms and light rain in Karachi from September 14 to 16, while a broader spell may affect parts of Sindh from the evening of September 13. According to the PMD forecast reported by Dawn, rain accompanied by wind and thunderstorms—with isolated heavy falls—may occur intermittently in Karachi, Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Mirpurkhas, Tharparkar, Umerkot, Thatta, Badin and nearby areas through September 16. Monsoon currents are entering northern Pakistan, while a westerly system is also expected to influence the upper parts of the country. As weather forecasts can change, residents should monitor official PMD updates and exercise caution during thunderstorms, particularly around vulnerable structures, trees and electricity installations.
