Karachi Records 4,700+ Street Crimes in November: CPLC Report

Karachi reported over 4,700 street crime incidents in November 2025, according to new data issued by the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC). The report shows that 160 cases involved vehicle snatching or theft, while 3,143 motorcycles were stolen across the city. Armed street robbers snatched 1,403 mobile phones from citizens at gunpoint, highlighting persistent law-and-order challenges. Authorities also documented one kidnapping for ransom, 15 extortion cases, and 39 murder and violent crime incidents during the month. The latest figures mirror Karachi’s ongoing security concerns, which were also evident in August when CPLC recorded 5,554 street crimes, including the killing of 54 citizens, mainly during robbery resistance. Experts say the numbers underscore the urgent need for stronger policing and improved urban safety measures.
