Karachi’s water crisis deepened on Friday as repeated power failures by K-Electric disrupted water pumping operations across the city. According to the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC), a major power breakdown struck the K-3 pumping station late Thursday night, and the fault has yet to be resolved. Earlier in the week, the same station remained without electricity for 41 hours before power was finally restored—only for another cable fault to shut it down once again. The station had also been temporarily closed on Monday for technical repairs. KWSC reported a loss of nearly 335 million gallons of water due to continued outages. The worsening shortage has severely affected multiple areas including North Nazimabad, Gulberg Town, Gulistan-e-Johar, Scheme 33, several blocks of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, New Karachi, Saddar, and Clifto
