Jhang: The district administration has announced that the first Jhang Desert Rally 2026 and a three-day cultural festival will be held from October 16 to 18 at Rahmatabad in Tehsil Athara Hazari, in the Thal Desert. Deputy Commissioner Jhang Babar Sahib Din announced the updated schedule at a press conference in Lahore. Dawn The rally will feature a 95-kilometre desert track, with around 100 drivers and riders from across Pakistan, including female jeep drivers, expected to participate. The event is being organised to promote tourism, highlight Jhang’s desert landscape and showcase the district’s cultural identity at a wider level. Dawn Alongside the rally, the three-day festival will include tent pegging, kabaddi, volleyball, paragliding and other cultural and recreational activities. Food courts and accommodation camps are also planned for visitors and participants.
