Heavy Rain Triggers Flooding in KP, Nowshera Hit as 83 PESCO Feeders Lose Power

Peshawar: Heavy rainfall across different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa disrupted electricity supply on 83 PESCO feeders on October 6. According to PESCO, 19 feeders were affected in Peshawar, 13 in Khyber, nine in Swabi, 29 in Mardan and 13 in Swat.

PESCO said restoration work has started in areas where rainfall has stopped, while teams will begin repairs in the remaining areas once weather conditions improve. Operational staff have been placed on high alert.

Rain was also forecast for Nowshera, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi and Khyber under the prevailing westerly weather system. PMD said scattered rain, wind and thunderstorms could continue across parts of KP.

The circulated claim of a flood-like situation in Landi Kotal could not be independently verified from a strong current official source during this check, so it should not yet be presented as a confirmed flood event.
