Gwadar Port Completes Second Ship Refuelling, Supplies 1,150 Tonnes

Gwadar: Gwadar Port completed its second commercial ship-refuelling operation on July 29, supplying about 1,150 metric tonnes of low-sulphur fuel oil to the LNG carrier M.V. Excelerate Shenandoah. Ship refuelling at a port is known as bunkering. The fuel was carried from Karachi by the bunker vessel M.T. Marine Ista, while Gwadar Port Authority, Pakistan Customs and other departments supported the operation. The published update said the work was completed under international safety and environmental rules. Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry said the service could help Gwadar attract more international ships. Gwadar Port Authority Chairman Noor-ul-Haq Baloch said regular refuelling operations may support investment, business and employment, but no confirmed figures were announced.
