Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the Islamabad Expressway service road project in the morning and reviewed the ongoing work. The Capital Development Authority is replacing the damaged service road between Faizabad and Gulberg Greens with a wider, nine-kilometre road having three lanes on each side. Naqvi directed officials to speed up the work and complete the project within a few months instead of allowing unnecessary delays. The project is expected to make travel easier for people living in nearby housing areas and reduce traffic pressure on the Islamabad Expressway. Earlier reports placed the estimated cost at Rs7.4 billion. However, the latest visit update did not provide a revised cost or an exact completion date.
