Faisalabad’s New Metro & Tram Route Announced

The Punjab government is set to launch a new 20-km Orange Line corridor in Faisalabad, featuring 27 metro buses and two tram services, marking one of the largest mass-transit expansions in the city’s history. The route will run from Faisal Town (Jaranwala Road) to Tahirpur (Jhang Road) with 22 stations, two depots, and six U-turns. Officials confirmed that the PC-1 has been approved, and utility departments have been directed to begin shifting infrastructure immediately.Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz is expected to perform the groundbreaking soon. Authorities say the Orange Line corridor will provide a major public transport solution for Faisalabad, carrying thousands of passengers daily and easing congestion across key city routes. Departments will finalize timelines next week for utility relocation.
