Dubai: The proposed $5 billion Moon project has moved a step forward after Moon World Resorts appointed Rider Levett Bucknall (RLB) as program manager and cost consultant for its MOON Smart City developments worldwide. The company says RLB will support the project from pre-development through delivery, helping with budget discipline and program management.
Moon World Resorts describes MOON as a giant moon-shaped experiential destination combining hospitality, entertainment, wellness, attractions, luxury residences and commercial real estate under one iconic concept. The company presents it as part of a wider global MOON Smart City vision rather than a standard standalone building project.
However, the project should still be treated as a concept/pre-development scheme at this stage. Based on the official materials reviewed, the latest announcement confirms the RLB appointment, but it does not announce a construction start in Dubai, a finalized project site, or a signed government development agreement. That means the story is about project advancement in planning, not the start of on-ground construction.
