The Balochistan Meteorological Department has forecast the season’s first significant spell of winter rainfall, expected between December 6 and 10, offering much-needed relief to drought-stricken regions. Officials say a strong western disturbance will bring widespread rain, thunderstorms, and possible snowfall over higher elevations. Intermittent showers may continue throughout December, helping replenish groundwater and dam reservoirs. Districts likely to benefit include Zhob, Sherani, Musa Khel, Barkhan, Kohlu, Sibi, Lasbela, Awaran, Kech, Gwadar, Panjgur, Khuzdar, Qila Saifullah, Chagai, Noshki, Washuk, and Mastung.Meteorologists attribute the prolonged system to active northwestern winds combined with steady Arabian Sea moisture.
