Daanish Schools are designed to provide free quality education, boarding and residential facilities to talented students from economically disadvantaged families. Official sources say the model includes modern campuses, STEM learning, sports and co-curricular activities, while the government is also expanding the network beyond Punjab into underserved areas of Pakistan. The programme was originally launched in Punjab during Shehbaz Sharif’s tenure as chief minister, with the aim of giving deserving students access to quality education and equal opportunities. Current federal plans also call for new Daanish Schools to provide full boarding facilities and modern learning in areas including IT, AI, robotics and skill-based education. Claims that the schools are “changing lives” are value-based, but the programme’s stated purpose is clearly to support underprivileged students through education, accommodation and broader personal development.
