Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority has issued a public-awareness warning over a building or structure constructed on land designated as “Open Space” in the approved layout plan of Bahria Town Phase II, III, V and VI in Zone-5, Islamabad. The notice circulating at the site states that construction, allotment or transfer of property on land reserved as open space is illegal under the approved planning framework.
CDA’s official records show that Bahria Town Phase II, III, V and VI has an approved Layout Plan and an issued NOC. This means the warning does not declare the entire Bahria Town scheme illegal; it concerns land or structures that conflict with the approved layout plan. CDA regulations and previous official decisions also state that parks, open spaces and public amenity sites cannot simply be converted into residential or commercial property without lawful approval.
