The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has moved forward with plans to construct a major underpass at Kashmir Chowk, also known as Dhokri Chowk, on Murree Road near Islamabad Club. The project, estimated to cost around Rs1.4 billion, is aimed at improving traffic flow between Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Technical bids have been submitted by Habib Construction Services and Kamran Khan (Kundi Group), although the latter was initially declared non-responsive and has challenged the decision. The CDA is expected to resolve the matter before proceeding with the financial bidding process. Once completed, the underpass is expected to improve traffic management and provide a smoother route for commuters travelling between the two cities.
