CDA Announces Major Upgrades for Markets Across Islamabad

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched a major rehabilitation and upgradation drive for Islamabad’s old residential sectors and commercial centers. During a review meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, the Engineering Wing presented a detailed plan aimed at restoring roads, markets, pedestrian paths, and essential municipal services. In the first phase, the MPO Directorate will recarpet key hubs including Blue Area, F-6 Super Market, F-7 Jinnah Super Market, and commercial zones in D-12 Markaz. All streets in Sector I-14 and major roads in Sector E-12 will also be upgraded. CDA has already begun restoring zebra crossings, prioritizing areas near hospitals and schools. The broader plan includes repairing and constructing footpaths, fixing streetlights, improving drainage systems, installing signage boards, and covering manholes. Surveys of all markets and sectors are complete, and internal resources will be utilized for implementation.
