Karachi: First Lady Bibi Asifa Bhutto Zardari was briefed on the proposal to establish a Comprehensive Stroke Center at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. Dr. Syed Fazal Zaidi and Patient Aid Foundation Chairman Mushtaq Chapra presented the vision, roadmap, and need for advanced stroke care in Sindh. The briefing highlighted that Sindh records an estimated 500 stroke cases daily, including around 50 severe cases needing specialized treatment. The proposed center will provide care for ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, neuro-interventional procedures, neurocritical care, rehabilitation, training, research, and a province-wide tele-stroke network. Can this project become a landmark step for public healthcare in Sindh?
