Another Punjab District Gets Electric Buses

The Punjab Transport Company has introduced 15 electric buses in Chakwal as part of the province’s push for clean and modern public transport. Officially launched on December 3, the service now operates on three key routes: District Complex to Dhudial, Tehsil Chowk to Balkasar, and Tehsil Chowk to Mohal Mughlan. Authorities stated that the initiative aims to provide residents with a noise-free and smog-free commute while improving mobility across the district. The electric buses come equipped with air conditioning, digital displays, and accessibility features for enhanced passenger comfort. This rollout aligns with Punjab’s broader zero-emission transport strategy, designed to reduce air pollution and expand sustainable mobility options. Chakwal is the latest district to join the province’s growing electric bus network, offering residents safer, cleaner, and more reliable travel options.
