Abu Dhabi Expands E20 Highway With Five Lanes, Four Bridges

Abu Dhabi’s Department of Municipalities and Transport has launched a major expansion of the E20 highway in Khalifa City to improve traffic flow and support rising travel demand near residential areas and Zayed International Airport. The highway will be widened from three to five lanes, while four new bridges and 10.5 kilometres of additional ramps and loops will be constructed. The project also includes 1.5 kilometres of internal roads and upgrades to eight signal-controlled junctions. Authorities will improve drainage, irrigation, street lighting and landscaping as part of the wider infrastructure development. The expansion is expected to increase road capacity, reduce congestion and provide safer, smoother connections across Khalifa City.
