800 New Taxis Added to Improve Abu Dhabi Airport Travel

Abu Dhabi: Abu Dhabi Mobility, in collaboration with Abu Dhabi Airports, has added 800 taxis to the emirate’s transport network to strengthen connectivity with Zayed International Airport and handle higher passenger demand.

The key clarification is that all 800 taxis are not dedicated to the airport. Of the total, 500 luxury taxis are specifically allocated to Zayed International Airport, while another 300 taxis operate across Abu Dhabi city and can be deployed to support airport journeys during peak periods and major events.

The 500+300 structure also matches an earlier Integrated Transport Centre official tender, which allocated 500 vehicles for airport operations and 300 for Abu Dhabi city with support for airport demand when required.

Zayed International Airport already provides official metered taxis around the clock, with additional accessible and larger vehicles available for passengers.
