$50m Bet on Karachi: Pakistan’s First Bulletproof Glass Plant Takes Shape

Karachi: Vanguard International is establishing what SIFC describes as Pakistan’s first indigenous international-grade transparent armour manufacturing facility at Bin Qasim Industrial Park, backed by approximately $50 million in private investment. According to an official SIFC update, the planned facility is expected to create around 400 skilled jobs and manufacture transparent armour for military, law-enforcement and security applications. Radio Pakistan also reported that a Vanguard International delegation met SIFC officials and that the project is being facilitated through SIFC. The government says local production could support technology transfer, reduce reliance on imports and conserve foreign exchange. However, the facility should currently be treated as an establishment-stage project; no verified commercial production start date has yet been announced.
