Apni Zameen Apna Ghar

Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency

Apni Zameen Apna Ghar is a Punjab Government housing initiative executed by the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency under the Housing, Urban Development and Public Health Engineering Department. The program is designed to provide free 3-marla residential plots to eligible landless and low-income families across Punjab, with Phase 1 covering 1,892 plots in 23 government-backed housing schemes across 19 districts.

The project includes transparent online registration, district-based scrutiny, balloting, plot allotment and access to construction support through the related Apni Chhat Apna Ghar loan program. It focuses on improving housing access for homeless families, reducing informal settlements and supporting planned residential growth with government-backed housing schemes.

PHATA is implementing Apni Zameen Apna Ghar with a focus on social housing, land ownership for deserving families and transparent public allotment. As the first phase has been launched and further phases are expected, the project holds strong public welfare value and can support long term urban development, housing affordability and organized residential expansion across Punjab.
