Two Rain Spells Forecast as Temperatures May Drop to Zero in Islamabad

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast two separate spells of rain and snowfall, raising hopes of an end to the ongoing dry cold wave across the country.According to officials, the first spell will continue until December 15, bringing snowfall to Murree, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. A second system of western winds is expected to enter the country around December 19, with light rain forecast for Islamabad and Rawalpindi.The department warned that temperatures in Islamabad could drop to 0°C by late December or early January. Cold conditions are expected to intensify until December 21, with daytime temperatures falling to 3–5°C in upper regions.Smog and fog are likely to persist in Punjab, upper Sindh, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa plains during morning and night hours.
