Punjab Approves Rs16 Billion for New Development Projects

The Punjab Planning & Development Board has approved development projects worth Rs16 billion during the 50th meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) for FY 2025–26. The session, chaired by Dr. Naeem Rauf, reviewed and sanctioned key schemes across multiple sectors. These include Rs3.40 billion for the Chief Minister’s Youth Employability Program for BPOs, Rs1.31 billion for the rehabilitation of the Domeli Dam, spillway, and irrigation network in Jhelum, and Rs5.42 billion for establishing 25 air quality monitoring stations under PCAP. Additionally, Rs1.66 billion was approved for climate-resilient electrical upgrades in GOR-I Lahore, Rs2.80 billion for construction and repair of the Rawalpindi–Murree–Kashmir Road, and Rs1.42 billion for restructuring the Directorate General of Monitoring & Evaluation. Senior officials and departmental representatives attended the meeting.
