Pakistan’s SPEL Limited to Launch 575KW Solar Power Plant

SPEL Limited has successfully commissioned a 575KW solar power system, increasing its total renewable energy capacity to 4.1MW. The company shared this update in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), stating that the newly installed system supports its existing 3.55MW setup and now fulfills nearly 24%–29% of its annual electricity needs. Formerly known as Synthetic Products Enterprises Limited, SPEL manufactures plastic auto parts, packaging materials for food and FMCG sectors, and industrial moulds and dies. This expansion aligns with the company’s broader ESG goals and reflects Pakistan’s fast-growing shift toward solar energy. With the nation’s solar capacity surpassing 33GW, multiple companies—including J.K. Spinning Mills and Tariq Corporation—are also investing heavily in renewable solutions, underscoring a nationwide move toward cleaner energy.
