Northern Bypass

Multan Development Authority

The Northern Bypass Project of the Multan Development Authority is an important infrastructure initiative designed to improve traffic flow and strengthen regional connectivity around Multan. The project aims to divert heavy traffic away from congested city areas and create a faster route linking major roads, industrial zones and nearby districts. It is planned to support long term urban expansion and ease transportation challenges across the region.

The development includes construction of a wide carriageway, service roads, interchanges, drainage systems and supporting civil structures. It is designed to handle high traffic volumes and provide smooth movement for commercial and passenger vehicles. By creating an alternative route around the city, the project helps reduce congestion, shorten travel times and support economic activity linked to Multan’s industrial and commercial sectors.

The Northern Bypass is being developed by MDA with a focus on sustainable road design, safety features and long term urban planning needs. Once completed, it will play a major role in improving mobility, promoting regional trade and supporting the continued development of southern Punjab.
