CDA Upgrading Islamabad Bus Stops With Modern Smart Facilities

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched a major upgrade of Islamabad’s bus stops to provide commuters with safer, smarter, and more convenient travel options. According to officials, the new smart bus stops will feature free Wi-Fi connectivity, charging stations, and backlit lighting to enhance visibility and safety at night. Each stop will also include a dedicated cycle stand, allowing passengers to securely park their bicycles before boarding public transport. Additionally, CDA is introducing a digital wallet activation service at selected stations to support contactless and modern payment systems. The initiative aims to improve the overall commuting experience, promote eco-friendly mobility, and advance Islamabad’s transition toward a smart city infrastructure.
